Meanwhile, defending champion Letran showcased its championship pedigree with a remarkable come-from-behind win against Mapua University, dealing the Red Robins their first defeat of the season in an 86-69 victory.
George Diamante, delivering yet another standout performance, played a pivotal role in Letran’s victory with a magical 26-point effort, including an impressive 21 points in the final half of the game. Diamante’s athleticism and skill fueled the Squires’ fiery charge, securing their third consecutive win and fourth overall in five outings. Mapua, previously unbeaten, stumbled to a 4-1 record after the loss.
Diamante’s impact was evident throughout the game, particularly in the third quarter, where his 10 points ignited a massive turnaround for the Squires. In addition to his scoring prowess, Diamante contributed significantly on the boards with 13 rebounds, while also tallying five assists, a steal, and a block.
