This Friday, basketball fans are in for a treat as Robert Bolick prepares to square off against his former team, NorthPort, for the first time since his departure. The highly anticipated matchup between NLEX and NorthPort is set to take place at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum as part of the ongoing PBA 48th Season Philippine Cup, with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Bolick, a standout guard who was drafted third overall by NorthPort in 2018, finds himself on the opposing side this time, suiting up for NLEX following a blockbuster trade between the two teams. Despite the change in uniform, Bolick remains grateful to his former team for the opportunity they provided him to showcase his talent in the PBA.
“Sila ang nagbigay ng opportunity sa akin kung bakit ako nakilala sa PBA. Magkikita-kita pa rin naman kami sa PBA,” Bolick expressed, acknowledging NorthPort’s role in his professional basketball journey.
Having been a key contributor for NLEX in the previous conference, Bolick brings a wealth of experience and skill to his new team. Averaging an impressive 16 points and 10.3 assists per game in four appearances during the Commissioner’s Cup, Bolick has quickly established himself as a valuable asset for the Road Warriors.
In addition to Bolick, NLEX will also showcase new acquisitions, including guard Baser Amer, who joined the team through free agency. The Road Warriors have been active in shaping their roster, recently participating in a trade that brought in Ato Ular, Yousef Taha, and a future draft pick in exchange for Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser.
