MANILA, Philippines — Ces Molina has set her mission to become an unstoppable 20-point scorer in Cignal HD Spikers. Cignal HD Spikers, who hope to be back in finals in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) finals for the 2024 season, which begins in February.
Molina has won her first Most Valuable Player award at the Invitational Conference and leading Cignal to two bronze medals from of three tournaments this year, we can expect Molina to keep proving her ability to score to her team, the HD Spikers, who last made it to the PVL finals in the year 2000 at the Reinforced Conference.
“My objective in each game is to earn a minimum of 20-plus points since I think it’ll be an enormous benefit for the team to score twenty points per contest.” Molina told reporters in Filipino on Monday, at GameVille Mandaluyong.
“There is a lot of time and a chance to be awarded the MVP once yet again, and I’m not even contemplating this. My aim is to win the finals again, as there’s been quite a while since we won it”, she explained.
“Hopefully that the inclusion of Dawn Macandili-Catindig and Jovelyn Fernandez will assist us to achieve the gold medal as we are aware that coach Shaq Delos Santos really would like to be crowned champion, and has been successful before. We’d like to win together with Cignal.”

The top outside spiker who is the No.6 scoring player in the 2nd All-Filipino Conference with 172 points that were based on 153 kills 14 blocks and five aces is determined to aid players from the HD Spikers win their maiden PVL title this year. They have collected seven bronze medals and one silver since they joined the pros in 2021.
“This marks my 3rd season with Cignal and my goal is to get to the finals and be crowned champion,” said Molina, who has won two championships while playing with Delos Santos for the Petron Blaze Spikers in the now-defunct Philippine Superliga.
“Hopefully that the inclusion of Dawn Macandili Catindig along with Jovelyn Fernandez can help us achieve the gold since we are aware that coach Shaq [Delos Santos] truly would like winning the title, and is used to winning before. We’d like to win by joining Cignal.
The 29-year-old hitter has put the most effort into her health this season to enable her to be able to serve as the primary leader and scorer for Cignal, which began its ball-training last week, after Delos Santos arrived from his trip to Japan in which he absorbed many aspects through Kurashiki Ablaze trainer Hideo Suzuki.
Molina believes that keeping their core players, including the top setter Gel Cayuna Vanie Gandler and Ria Meneses bolstered by brand newcomers Catindig and Fernandez will provide an edge to their HD Spikers this season
