In a remarkable display of skill and talent, Filipino skateboarders showcased their prowess in the men’s finals of the Southeast Asian Street Skateboarding Competition, held in Baler, Aurora.
Nineteen-year-old Renz Gelig emerged as a standout performer, clinching the silver medal with an impressive score of 197.16. Gelig’s remarkable performance placed him just 6.26 points behind the competition’s winner, Jarudet Sae Jao of Thailand, who secured the gold with a score of 203.42.
Adding to the Philippines’ medal haul was hometown favorite Mak Feliciano, who captured the bronze medal with a commendable score of 194.22. Feliciano’s podium finish delighted the local crowd and underscored the depth of talent within the Filipino skateboarding community.
The success of Gelig and Feliciano in the men’s finals highlights the Philippines’ growing prominence in the sport of skateboarding.
