Manila, Philippines – As Dawn Macandili-Catindig adjusts to the dynamics and strategies of her new team, Cignal, she’s not holding back on her personal aspirations for the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) season.
The acclaimed libero has set lofty goals for herself, aiming to maximize her abilities to contribute significantly to the HD Spikers’ championship pursuits.
“High expectations are what I have set for myself,” expressed Macandili-Catindig, who has shifted to Cignal following the dissolution of F2 Logistics, her previous team. “I’m pushing myself to become the best version of me as I start the new year with a new team. Our aim is to achieve our collective goal.”
Macandili-Catindig, 27, finds familiarity and comfort in Cignal’s playing style. It closely mirrors the approach of the Philippine women’s volleyball team, coached by Shaq de los Santos, who also leads the HD Spikers.
Furthermore, she appreciates the support from her experienced teammate, Jheck Dionela, 33, a seasoned libero with 11 years at the HD Spikers. Dionela’s welcoming nature and guidance have been instrumental in helping Macandili-Catindig settle into her new environment.
