Despite battling left calf tightness, June Mar Fajardo displayed his dominance on the court during the San Miguel Beermen’s recent triumph over the Magnolia Hotshots.
In Game 5 of the 2023-24 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals, the seven-time PBA MVP showcased his resilience, contributing 18 points, 15 rebounds, and an assist in nearly 35 minutes of play.
Despite his standout performance, Fajardo humbly credited his teammates for their stellar play. He particularly praised Jericho Cruz, who tied his career-high with 30 points, and Simon Enciso, who delivered 15 points in his first start of the series.
Fajardo revealed that he had initially planned to sit out due to lower leg soreness but decided to play given the critical nature of the game.
With the Beermen looking to secure the Commissioner’s Cup title, Fajardo expressed hope that his team can replicate their Game 5 performance, aiming for a victorious Valentine’s Day finale at the same venue.
