In a bid to revitalize its senior men’s basketball program, Colegio de San Juan de Letran has appointed Allen Ricardo as the interim head coach for its Knights basketball team, the school announced on Friday.
Ricardo, who currently oversees the Letran Squires in the juniors ranks, will take on the temporary role of leading the Knights as they prepare for the upcoming NCAA Season 100. His appointment follows the departure of former head coach Rensy Bajar, who held the position for one season after succeeding three-time champion Bonnie Tan.
With an impressive track record as the architect behind the Letran Squires’ championship victory in Season 98, Ricardo brings a wealth of coaching experience and expertise to his new role. His leadership will be instrumental in guiding the Knights as they seek to reclaim their status as contenders in the NCAA basketball scene.
The decision to appoint Ricardo comes after a challenging Season 99 for the Letran Knights, which saw the team struggle to find success on the court, managing only two wins in 18 games. With Ricardo at the helm, Letran aims to turn the tide and embark on a journey back to glory, drawing inspiration from past achievements and setting their sights on future triumphs.
