Despite falling short of securing a PBA championship for the Magnolia Hotshots, import Tyler Bey remains open to returning to the league for another season.
Bey, who was a strong contender for Best Import of the Conference in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup, expressed his affection for the Philippines and Magnolia during a post-game interview after the Hotshots’ defeat to eventual champion San Miguel Beermen in Game 6 of the series.
“For me, personally, I love the Philippines, love Magnolia, hopefully we could run it back,” Bey told reporters, emphasizing his desire to return for another stint with the team.
Reflecting on their performance in the recently concluded conference, Bey expressed disappointment over not achieving their desired result but highlighted the camaraderie and bond he formed with his teammates.
“I just felt like we have a group of guys, met guys that I could call family. Like I said, I just hope we could run it back and go from there,” he added, underscoring the importance of team chemistry and unity.
Throughout the conference, Bey showcased his impressive skills on the court, averaging 27.6 points, 14.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 11 elimination games. Additionally, he contributed defensively with 2.3 steals and 1.1 blocks per game, leading Magnolia to the top of the standings and ultimately to the finals.
When asked about his willingness to return for another season, Bey expressed unequivocal interest, stating, “Yeah, for sure. No doubt. I would love to come back.”
In Game 6 of the finals, Bey delivered a solid performance, tallying 18 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, despite the Hotshots’ loss to the Beermen.
