Filipino golf sensation Yuka Saso showcased her resilience and skill as she surged into the Top 10 of the Saudi Ladies International, held at the prestigious Riyadh Golf Club in Saudi Arabia.
After a somewhat rocky start on the opening day, Saso demonstrated her determination to bounce back, delivering a stellar performance with a second-round 69 followed by an impressive five-under 67 in the third round. This remarkable display of skill propelled her into the Top 10 of the tournament, firmly establishing her presence among the elite competitors.
Saso’s exceptional round was characterized by a series of birdies, including three within the first five holes. Despite encountering a setback on the ninth hole, she remained composed and rallied with three additional birdies on the back nine, ultimately finishing with a commendable 34-33 for a 54-hole total of 211.
Her stellar performance placed her in a four-way tie for seventh position, an impressive feat considering she trailed the leader by six strokes. At the helm of the tournament is Thai golfer Patty Tavatanakit, whose consistent play maintained her three-stroke lead over Germany’s Esther Henseleit. Tavatanakit’s steady performance, highlighted by a third-round 69 and a total score of 205, firmly positioned her as the player to beat.
